Webinar Overview

Webinar Description

Routine bloodwork can reveal far more than what is highlighted in red on a laboratory report. In this 2-hour clinical webinar, participants will learn how to look beyond conventional reference ranges and uncover valuable physiologic patterns hidden within commonly ordered CBC, CMP, and lipid panels.

The course takes a deeper look at 12 routinely available markers and calculations, including RDW, HDL-C, bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, uric acid, GGT, NLR, SII, TyG index, albumin, RDW-to-albumin ratio, and estimated blood viscosity. Rather than simply identifying whether a value is high or low, participants will learn the physiology behind each marker, why it changes, and how seemingly unrelated laboratory values can be interpreted together.

Special attention will be given to recognizing patterns associated with insulin resistance, inflammation, oxidative/redox stress, iron restriction, nutritional insufficiency, altered erythropoiesis, hepatic dysfunction, and declining physiologic reserve. Participants will also learn how calculations derived from routine laboratory values can provide additional clinical insight without ordering an entirely new panel.

The emphasis throughout the webinar is on pattern recognition rather than diagnosing from a single laboratory value. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for asking three important questions when reviewing bloodwork:

What does this marker mean physiologically? Why might it be changing? What do the surrounding markers tell me about the bigger clinical picture?

This course is designed to help clinicians transform routine bloodwork from a collection of isolated numbers into a more comprehensive picture of a patient's underlying physiology—while recognizing when findings warrant additional testing, imaging, referral, or conventional medical evaluation.

What You'll Learn

  • Explain the physiology behind commonly overlooked markers found within routine CBC, CMP, and lipid panels.

  • Identify metabolic, inflammatory, nutritional, hepatic, and redox patterns that may be present even when individual laboratory values fall within standard reference ranges.

  • Recognize common causes of elevated or decreased markers and interpret them in the context of surrounding laboratory findings.

  • Calculate and interpret derived markers, including NLR, SII, TyG Index, RDW-to-Albumin Ratio (RAR), and estimated blood viscosity.

  • Integrate multiple laboratory markers into clinically meaningful patterns to guide additional history, testing, lifestyle interventions, or appropriate referral.
